Shad Tournament Returns April 27

For 31 years, the end of April has meant hundreds—sometimes thousands—of fishermen and women coming to Easton to compete in the Forks of the Delaware Shad Tournament.

If you'd like to be a part of this year's tournament, you have three more weeks to register.

The tournament runs from Saturday, April 27 to Friday, May 3, with weigh station set up in Scott Park from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The deadline to register is April 25 between noon and 6 p.m. at the park.

In recent years, the tournament has seen declining attendance and sponsorship. In 2011, it was nearly canceled before being rescued by local car dealer Tom Ring, whose employees were fans of shad fishing.
