Skate Jam Comes to Easton This Weekend

A look at what's happening this weekend in Easton.

This Saturday, Easton's Centre Square belongs to skateboards.

Starting at 3 p.m., Drinky's will host the first ever Skate Jam, a sort of cousin to the snow-boarding event the downtown bar hosted in 2011 and 2012.

It will use both the city's mobile skate park and ramps from sponsor company Red Bull, and give amateur skaters a chance to show their stuff, and get a glimpse of professionals like X-games star Matt Lindenmuth, a Kutztown native.

The event will also feature a beer tent, numerous DJs, and scrimmages featuring the Two Rivers Roller Derby against other roller derby teams.

In addition, local artists will paint eight-foot murals at during the event. Those murals will be auctioned off to raise money for the Easton Main Street Initiative.
