Ghosts, Oscar-Winner & Affordable Housing in Easton This Week

Lafayette prepares for Tony Blair, a fair housing meeting and more.

It's a new week and a new month (as of Monday, anyway), so let's take a look at some of the things happening around Easton:

1. Are you concerned about your housing rights? Do you know what they are? Envision LV is hosting a meeting on affordable housing Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Easton Area Community Center.

2. Artist Preston Hindmarch explores ghosts of Easton's past in "Catch the Spirits," a show opening Monday at 6 p.m. at Two Rivers Brewing.

3. The Oscar-winning documentary The Holocaust: One Survivor Remembers is this month's First Monday program at the Easton Area Community Center, scheduled for noon to 1 p.m. Monday.

4. Lafayette College will prepare for Tony Blair's talk next week with the panel discussion “Tony Blair, Britain, and a Changing World,” Tuesday at 12:15 p.m.  in the Interfaith Chapel of Hogg Hall.

5. Also at Lafayette: the college and the U.S. Attorney's Office will screen the documentary Pull of Gravity, which deals with the challenges newly-released prisoners face when re-entering society.

The screening—followed by a panel discussion eaturing the filmmakers, a representative of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and others—is scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. in room 224 of Oechsle Hall. Admission is free, but reservations are required.
