When is Easton's Scarecrow Fest?

Annual contest challenges people to build funny, scary and creative scarecrows.

Do you build scarecrows during the fall? Here's a chance to win prizes for it.

The Easton Farmers' Market 16th annual Scarecrow Fest returns Saturday Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Although the event includes things like a pumpkin pie bake-off, storytelling and other Halloweenish activities, the highlight is the scarecrow building contest.

Contest categories include: 

  •  Funniest Scarecrow
  • Most Artful Scarecrow
  • Scariest Scarecrow
  • Most Glamorous Scarecrow
  • Cutest Scarecrow
  • Best Character/Look-Alike Scarecrow
  • Best Group Designed Scarecrow
Registration is $10, which gets you includes straw, burlap, clothing, accessories and assistance from the EFM scarecrow techs. (You're welcome to bring your own materials as well.)

Prizes include Downtown Easton gift cards, gift certificates to State Theatre, Purple Cow Creamery and Carmelcorn Shop and a variety of Crayola products and Easton Farmers’ Market merchandise.
