In his role as Production Team Leader, Justin led 40 individuals in the maintenance of 24 F-22 aircraft worth $3.4 billion, ensuring the integrity of aircraft systems and mission readiness. As Operations Manager, he expanded his leadership to a team of 60, managing $58 million in equipment and resolving complex technical issues.

As an Academics/Training Manager, Justin developed a professional development program for 147 personnel, supporting the maintenance of 46 F-22s valued at $8 billion. His role as an advisor to senior commanders and his leadership in addressing critical issues underscored his exceptional capabilities.

Justin’s deployments included defending the Iraq No-Fly Zone, protecting the Demilitarized Zone in South Korea, and promoting regional stability in Japan. He was a key contributor to Operation Enduring Freedom, the Global War on Terror, and Operation Noble Eagle, where his leadership and expertise were instrumental in achieving mission success.

A 21-year U.S. Air Force veteran, he now serves as the Veterans Service Coordinator at New Vitae Wellness and Recovery, helping veterans and civilians rebuild their lives through mental-health and residential care.

In 2025, Justin’s commitment to others was tested in a life-threatening crisis at work. When a volatile situation escalated suddenly, Justin stepped in without hesitation to protect a colleague and prevent harm to others. His calm, decisive action ensured everyone’s safety until law enforcement arrived. In the aftermath, Justin continued to provide guidance and emotional support to those affected, demonstrating compassion and leadership when it mattered most.

That courage mirrors how he lives every day — calm when others feel fear, steady when tension rises. In moments that test others’ limits, Justin brings perspective and compassion, helping restore safety and stability for both residents and staff.

Beyond emergencies, Justin spends his days helping veterans navigate complex systems to access benefits, housing, and treatment. He makes the phone calls, writes the emails, and advocates tirelessly so that no veteran feels forgotten. He challenges residents to see their own potential — reminding them that recovery isn’t just possible, it’s worth fighting for.

Throughout 2025, Justin represented New Vitae Wellness and Recovery at community events and conferences, strengthening partnerships between behavioral-health providers and veteran agencies. His leadership and ongoing service have earned regional recognition — including the 2024 Philadelphia Business Journal’s Veterans in Business Award — underscoring his continued impact beyond the military.

Justin also has a hand in planning and supporting all veteran-related events throughout the year, working closely with New Vitae’s leadership to ensure each one is meaningful and inclusive. During the annual National Veterans BBQ, which happens to fall on his birthday each year, Justin quietly spends the day behind the grill — serving others instead of being celebrated himself.

As the longest-serving veteran on staff, he leads by example, showing that true service means giving back even on a day that could be his own. Justin Wunderler is more than a veteran. He is a protector, mentor, and everyday hero — calm in crisis, humble in service, and unwavering in his dedication to others.”
