Port Authority Route Changes and Bus Stop Eliminations Begin Sunday
Several routes through Swissvale and Edgewood will experience changes.

More than 70 Port Authority bus routes will see changes and more than 430 bus stops will be eliminated effective Sunday, June 16, including some routes and stops that local residents use.
Some of the routes affected include:
- 61A Wilkinsburg via Forbes Ave: This route will be extended to Braddock Avenue at Library Street and renamed 61A North Braddock, with all stops served along the new route. The inbound/outbound stop at Swissvale Station Stop A is discontinued. View more information on 61A routing changes.
- 61B Braddock-Swissvale: This route will be shortened to Braddock Avenue at Library Street. The portion of the 61B route beyond Braddock at Library will be served by the extended 61A instead. View more information on 61B routing changes.
- 71 Edgewood Town Center: Routing will be changed due to ongoing weight restrictions on the Kenmawr Avenue Bridge. The route will now end at Hawkins Village. Two trips will be added: an outbound trip leaving Wilkinsburg Station at 8:54 a.m. and an inbound trip leaving Hawkins Village at 3:27 p.m. View more information on 71 routing changes.
- P71 Swisshelm Park-Rankin Flyer: Trip times and frequency will be adjusted. Routing will be changed due to ongoing weight restrictions on the Kenmawr Avenue Bridge. The route will be renamed P71 Swissvale Flyer to reflect the new routing. View more information on P71 routing changes.
The stops chosen for elimination are ones that see little to no use.
Port Authority regularly adjusts schedules four times a year.
