Swissvale Man Dies in Shooting
Fatal shooting occurred around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday near Westmoreland Avenue.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office confirmed Wednesday morning that a Swissvale man died Tuesday night after being shot near Westmoreland Avenue.
Charles Wooding, 22, collapsed in the street after being shot at 7705 Westmoreland Ave. He died shortly after being taken to the hospital. An autopsy is being conducted today, according to the medical examiner's office.
Edgewood and Swissvale Police reported to the scene along with the Swissvale Fire Department. Allegheny County Homicide later responded as well.

Mike Viglietta lives across the street from where the shooting took place on Westmoreland Avenue and stood outside as police investigated.
"I just heard the noise, came out the front door and saw all the police," he said. "I didn't even hear the shot."

Witnesses at the scene declined to comment.
Another neighbor also said he had not heard the shot fired. Others reported seeing a man laying in the middle of the street just as police responded. The victim was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
Police stood outside of the door at 7705 Westmoreland Avenue, which appeared to be a red brick four-unit apartment building. A group of children and neighbors lined the street Tuesday night.
A suspect has not yet been arrested.
