Swissvale, Wilkinsburg Women Charged in Bank Scheme

Two women were a part of scheme to access account numbers at Citizen's Bank.

The Allegheny County District Attorney’s office is reporting that two local women have been charged in a scheme to defraud Citizen's Bank.

Jean Givner, 39, of Swissvale and Angelique Brickell, 27, of Wilkinsburg were involved in a scheme to access account numbers from bank accounts at Citizen's Bank and then use that information to cash fraudulent checks, according to a news release from the D.A.'s office.

Givner was arraigned this week on one count of criminal attempt to commit theft after trying to deposit a check for $80,000, the news release said.

Brickell was arraigned on one count of theft for depositing a check worth $18,000. She later withdrew the funds before the check could be authenticated. 

Both women face a preliminary hearing March 10 in Pittsburgh Municipal Court.

Two other individuals in the scheme will face federal charges, the release stated.
