UCP/CLASS CEO Earns National Award

Al Condeluci recently was honored for his work.

Al Condeluci, chief executive officer of UCP/CLASS, recently was honored with the Award for Public Policy by the North American Brain Injury Society  at the 9th Annual Conference on Brain Injury.

Condeluci has been serving the Pittsburgh human service community for four decades. He has dedicated his life’s work to providing community supports to individuals with disabilities and educating others about the importance of creating a culture of acceptance of others.

Through his work with UCP/CLASS, speaking engagements and collection of published works, Dr. Condeluci has introduced thousands of individuals to the idea of a society where we celebrate similarities and embrace individual differences; recognizing that all people have a right to be a part of community.
His efforts as an advocate for inclusion have spanned across the globe in numerous lectures, presentations, and keynote addresses.

“All of us are a blend of individual assets and community benefits," Condeluci said in a news release. "Our individual assets are important, but what matters the most is our connection to the community. Being recognized by my peers for my work in community building is truly an honor.”

The NABIS is a society that encompasses professional members who are involved in the care or issues related to brain injury. The principal mission of the organization is moving brain injury science into practice through clinical care, research, policy and/or litigation. NABIS was created specifically to address the needs of professionals from multiple disciplines who are dedicated to the field of brain injury.
