Woodland Hills High School Student Shot Friday Afternoon

A student walking home from school was shot Friday afternoon.

A Woodland Hills High School student was shot just hours before graduation Friday afternoon less than half a mile from the school, according to school officials.

Woodland Hills School District Communication Director Maria McCool said the student has not yet been identified and his condition is not yet known. McCool also said she did not have the information pertaining to which grade the student is in.

She said the student was walking home along Greensburg Pike, then made a right onto Graham Boulevard.

A car then drove up to the student and he was shot on the side of the road around 3:15 p.m., McCool said. 

Churchill Borough police were not immediately available. Messages left with the departments have not yet been returned.

A portion of the roadway was closed to traffic and the scene secured with police tape following the incident.
