• Traffic Stops Lead to Drug Charges; Separate Dog Incident Under Investigation in Venango County (explorevenango.com) — State police based in Franklin recently handled two drug-related traffic stops and a separate dog attack case elsewhere in Venango County. Troopers say narcotics were found after stops in Irwin Township and Oil City, while a Cranberry Township dog attack that injured a neighbor’s pet is now headed for court review.
   

• Local Roundup: Bulldogs lose 63-35 at Girard (centredaily.com) — Franklin’s girls basketball team topped Maplewood 44-31 at Franklin High School on Tuesday, powered by big three-point shooting from Hanna and Blum. Maplewood’s Maggie Means led all Tigers scorers with 15 points, and Maplewood now turns to Thursday’s Region 2 home opener and lung cancer awareness fundraiser against Rocky Grove benefiting the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute.
