Author Craig Rupp, who once lived in town, insisted on using actual Gettysburg businesses and landmarks so fans can literally follow in his characters’ footsteps. The film, now streaming, even helped spark a real-life romance on a local Christmas tree farm.
   

• Kimberly A. Mohn 1977-2025 (fcfreepresspa.com) — Local readers may wish to note the passing of Kimberly A. Mohn, who was born in Gettysburg in 1977 and most recently lived in Rouzerville. The 48-year-old, remembered for her love of the outdoors and crafts, is survived by her fiancé, children, grandchildren, and extended family. • Timothy Donald Hobbs 1963-2025 (fcfreepresspa.com) — Gettysburg residents are mourning the passing of 62-year-old Timothy Donald Hobbs, a Gettysburg native, Gettysburg High School graduate, and longtime worker in his family’s Shenango of Pennsylvania business. Remembered as an avid boater, skilled pool player, and devoted Ravens fan, he is survived by his father and three brothers. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
