• PSP arrest Greensburg man following armed robbery at convenience store (crimewatchpa.com) — State police say a Greensburg man was arrested after an armed robbery at the Par Mar convenience store on Route 136 in Hempfield Township, where a clerk reported threats with a claw hammer. Investigators used surveillance video and a dropped EBT card to identify the suspect, who now faces multiple robbery and assault-related charges.
   

• Local school district installing AI pods to detect weapons, improve school safety (wtae.com) — New AI “Sense Pods” are being installed at Hempfield Area High School, with the project based out of Greensburg, to spot concealed weapons at school entrances using Wi-Fi signal disruptions. District leaders say the system adds a less-invasive, camera-free layer on top of existing security, operates around the clock for after-school events, and can be refunded if it doesn’t perform well.
