American Wood Fibers Sponsors Pennsylvania National Horse Show
AWF official shavings supplier for the annual event

American Wood Fibers (AWF) today announced its newest partnership with the Pennsylvania National Horse Show (PNHS), one of the largest indoor horse shows in the United States. As the official shavings supplier of the event, AWF’s sponsorship will support the show’s prestigious 75-year legacy with its donation of large flake bales.
Recognized as a premier equestrian event, the PNHS has been held in Harrisburg since 1946. Originally a four-day competition with 226 horses entered, the show has grown to house 1,650 horses competing over 10 days. The event continues to be an institution in the community, having an economic impact of more than $44 million annually.
“This partnership with AWF supports an event that is not only important to Harrisburg, but also the equine industry at-large,” said Susie Shirk, Executive Director of the PNHS. “We are appreciative that their sponsorship will make the horse stalls more comfortable and help preserve our 75-year tradition.”

The show, which attracts thousands of spectators each year, will take place at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center. The 24-acre facility contains 700 stalls, where AWF’s animal bedding will be used to contribute to the upkeep, comfort and health of the horses during the competition. The flake shavings are all-natural, high-grade softwood and provide maximum coverage and easy cleanout. With two separate weeks of competition, AWF will be donating 2,520 flake bales across the span of the event.
“As a family-owned, team-driven business, we love partnering with organizations like the Pennsylvania National Horse Show who are committed to bettering both the equine industry and their community,” said AWF’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing Michael Keefe.
