Schuylkill County Teen Wins Fan Vote in PA Farm Show National Anthem Contest (skooknews.com) — Harrisburg will host the 2026 Pennsylvania Farm Show, with the National Anthem performed daily by singers and choirs from across the state, including several from local schools. Events run January 10–17 at the Farm Show Complex, featuring food, competitions, demonstrations, and more than a million square feet of exhibits. A Schuylkill County teen won the fan vote to open the show.
   

2. 1-alarm Harrisburg fire forces emergency response amid high winds (pennlive.com) — Firefighters responded around 6:45 p.m. Friday to a one-alarm blaze at a Harrisburg duplex near Reel and Radnor streets, finding flames climbing from the second floor to the roof. Crews battled the fire amid strong winds, and neighbors reported everyone escaped safely, though officials still don’t know the cause or how many residents were displaced.
   

3. Harrisburg drug investigation leads to vehicle chase, 2 charged (abc27.com) — State troopers say a drug investigation in Harrisburg led to a high-speed chase through city streets near Forster and North 17th before officers disabled the suspect vehicle and made arrests. Two Philadelphia men now face felony drug and related charges, with preliminary hearings set for January 5. No injuries or broader public impacts were reported.

Jacob Yost, Dawson Bahl lead balanced Keystone Kraken-Viola effort in win over Berks Beast (pennlive.com) — Harrisburg hockey fans saw the Keystone Kraken-Viola stay perfect with a dominant 10-1 win over the Berks Beast at Twin Ponds East, tightening their grip on the Viola Division lead. Jacob Yost and Dawson Bahl each scored twice, while goalie Connor Martin backstopped the undefeated Kraken with 13 saves in a fast, physical performance.
