Chesterbrook Academy Donates Winter Gear to The Salvation Army
Student collected gloves, hats and scarves for local children who are supported by The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program
Students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool on Estelle Drive in Lancaster recently donated more than 50 winter clothing items to The Salvation Army. Throughout December, students worked together to collect gloves, hats and scarves for the organization’s Angel Tree program. At the end of the collection, students helped count the donations and prepare them for delivery to the organization. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of helping others, especially during the holiday season.
The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program provides new clothes and toys for 1 million children who usually go without gifts during the holiday season. Anonymous donors adopt these little "angels" in an expanding holiday tradition that makes the season brighter for both the gift giver and receiver.
