HARRISBURG, PA — The Pennsylvania State Capitol Complex in Harrisburg was evacuated Saturday evening after more than 250 people, including all members of the Pennsylvania House and Senate, received an emailed bomb threat, according to multiple reports.
The email, sent with the subject line “My manifesto,” was sent around 5:45 p.m., according to PennLive.com.
It claimed there were “highly lethal” lead azide devices hidden in and around the complex that would be detonated unless President Joe Biden “goes on national television and publicly denounces the illegitimate state of Israel,” WGAL said.
The person who wrote the email said they were in one of the buildings armed with a knife.
The threat came less than 24 hours before Biden is set to visit the Harrisburg area, ABC27.com reported.
Representative Ryan Bizzaro, representing the state’s third legislative district, confirmed the email to Fox 43, adding, “I'm tired of the foolery and unhinged behavior. Let's hope they find this menace."
