Verdict Reached In Pagans-Related Shooting At Delco Wawa

A Drexel Hill man charged last year in connection with the "outlaw motorcycle club"-related shooting was handed a verdict by a jury.

DREXEL HILL, PA — A jury decided the fate of a Delaware County man who was involved in what police said was a biker gang-related shooting outside a Wawa last year.

Joseph Krider, 48, of Drexel Hill, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, and simple assault in connection with the March 3, 2024 shooting.

On June 27, a Delaware County court dismissed the attempted murder charge, as well as four counts of recklessly endangering another person and eight counts of simple assault.

A jury also found Krider not guilty of possession of a weapon and on one count of aggravated assault.

Court records show a mistrial was declared on another aggravated assault due to a hung jury.

Krider's attorney told Patch the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict on that charge.

Ridley Township Police said the shooting occurred at about 3:30 p.m. March 3, 2024 at the Wawa at 390 E. Chester Pike in Ridley.

A man was shot when a fight outside the store escalated, police said.

Officers who showed up to the area saw blood on the ground, but did not find the victim. They later found him being treated at a hospital for a gunshot to the leg.

Police said he would not provide any information to police when questioned about the shooting, but police said he and three others were assaulting the gunman.

The person shot was one of four men who were attacking another man, allegedly Krider, in the parking lot, police said.

An investigation revealed all parties involved were known to each other and are either current or former members of the Pagans Motorcycle Club, which the ATF describes as an outlaw motorcycle club, police said.

Witness and video accounts revealed a man, later identified as Krider, drove to the Wawa, got out of his vehicle, then confronted and began fighting with another man in the parking lot, according to police.

Three other men who were talking with the man in the parking lot punched and kicked the man who arrived by vehicle, police said.

During the altercation, Krider pulled out a gun and fired a single shot, striking the shooting victim in the lower leg, police said.

Everyone involved in the fracas and shooting fled the scene, police said.
