What's Open and Closed Columbus Day

Columbus Day is a federal holiday.

Columbus Day is a federal holiday. The first Columbus Day was observed in 1937, but it has roots in this country going back to the colonial period. 

Because Columbus Day is a federal holiday, most government offices will be closed.

The United States Postal Service is closed Monday.

The Haverford Township Free Library will be open. Haverford Township will be closed on Monday. Haverford's Board of Commissioners meeting will take place Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Delaware County Courthouse and Government Center will be closed for the holiday.

Department of Motor Vehicles will be closed Saturday, Oct. 12 through Monday, Oct. 14.
