Woman Killed In Delco Murder-Suicide Attempt Identified
She was fatally shot by her children's father, who then tried to take his own life, in front of the children in Delaware County Friday.
UPPER DARBY, PA — The woman who was fatally shot during a child custody exchange in Delaware County has been identified.
Family members confirmed the woman killed Friday in Upper Darby was 34-year-old Shantal Snowden. Her 45-year-old ex-boyfriend is in critical condition after trying to take his own life after the deadly shooting in front of three children, two they shared together, according to NBC10.
The shooting happened Friday on the 200 block of Copely Road, according to Upper Darby Police.

When police were called to the area for a report of a shooting, they found a woman in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with a gunshot wound. First responders worked to save her, but she died from her injuries.
Also found in the vehicle was a man suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

He is in critical condition at Penn Presbyterian Hospital.
Police said three children — ages 6, 4, and 1, according to Action News — were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. No children were harmed.
NBC10 reports the man and Snowden were meant to exchange custody of children, and they went into the back of the car while their mom was in the driver’s seat. The father got into the passenger seat, and the two started arguing, which lead him to shoot the woman, then himself, according to the outlet.
