• 84th Pearl Harbor anniversary observed at Wayne Memorial Hospital (tricountyindependent.com) — Wayne Memorial Hospital recently marked the 84th anniversary of Pearl Harbor with a solemn ceremony honoring all veterans, including the few remaining survivors. The program also recalled Edward “Buddy” Mahnken, a Paupack resident and Hawley High School graduate who survived the 1941 attack and later belonged to the former Hawley VFW post, tying this national remembrance back to local service and sacrifice.
