2 Bags of Marijuana Found in Car, Police Say

Hellertown Police say they found two bags of marijuana after searching a car in the 1600 block of Main Street.

Hellertown Police say they recovered two bags of marijuana after searching a car that was stopped in the 1600 block of Main Street Feb. 22.

In a news release, police said the car was stopped at 2:03 a.m. after its registration was determined to be suspended.

Police identified the driver of the vehicle as Nick Campanella, 39, of the 1100 block of East Third Street, Bethlehem, and said officers detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from within his vehicle as they were speaking to him.

The bags of marijuana were allegedly found after the vehicle was searched.

Campanella and a passenger in the vehicle were each charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.

That passenger was identified as Davon Robertson, 18, of the 200 block of East Weidman Street, Lebanon, in the Hellertown Police news release.

Campanella also was cited for operating the vehicle without registration and without insurance, police said.
