Betty M. (Schaible) Whitman, 81, of Richlandtown [Obituary]

Betty M. (Schaible) Whitman, 81, of Richlandtown, formerly of Upper Black Eddy, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at Phoebe Richland Health Care, Richlandtown. She was the wife of Richard W. Whitman. She was born in Norristown on April 17, 1932 to the late Norman and Florence (Cochran) Schaible. Betty worked for Palisades School District as a secretary from 1967 until retiring in 1989. She was a member of Upper Tinicum Lutheran Church, Tinicum Township.

SURVIVORS

In addition to her loving husband of 60 years; children: Kathy L. Freier (Thomas J.) of Upper Black Eddy, Susan M. Reiss (John M.) of Hellertown, Patsy A. Chambers (Alan G.) of Upper Black Eddy, Richard W. Jr. (Michelle) of Bethlehem; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sister: Norma J. Allen. 

Family and friends are invited to call from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 2 p.m. The interment will conclude services at Upper Tinicum Church Cemetery.
