Boy Fell After Riding on Car Hood, Police Say

Hellertown Police say a teen driver has been charged as a result of an accident in which a boy fell off a car hood.

Hellertown Police say a boy fell after riding approximately 90 feet on a car hood on New Jersey Avenue, striking his head on the pavement and becoming unconscious.

In a news release, police said officers were called to the intersection of New Jersey and Wilson avenues for a report of "an unconscious male in the roadway" at 8:47 p.m. June 11.

Police only released details about the incident on Wednesday.

They said it was determined that the car the boy fell off was operated by a juvenile, who has been charged with reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
