Cash Stolen from Pool Patron's Wallet, Police Say

Borough police say they are investigating the theft of cash from a patron June 29.

In a press release Monday, police said an undisclosed amount of cash was taken from a patron's wallet at approximately 3pm. Officers were then dispatched to the pool, which has , including that of .

At the July 2 Hellertown Borough Council meeting, officials speculated that many of the recent problems at the pool are attributable to an increase in the number of non-local residents patronizing it this year.

"All you are going to do is create more administrative costs and your taxes will go up and season pass prices and admission will go up," she wrote in a comment posted on Patch. "It's a public pool....not a country club!"
