Drunken Driver Fell Asleep While Waiting for Traffic Light, Police Say

An Allentown man was charged with DUI after he allegedly fell asleep while waiting for a traffic light at a busy Lower Saucon Township intersection to turn green.

An Allentown man was charged with DUI, Lower Saucon Township Police said, after he allegedly fell asleep while waiting for a traffic light at a busy intersection to turn green.

In a news release issued Friday, police said Robert Mink, of the 1000 block of Sherman Street, passed out while waiting for the light at Route 378 and Seidersville Road at about 6:45 p.m. Sept. 18.

Mink's vehicle was "causing a traffic congestion during rush hour" when officers arrived at the scene, the release indicated.

Mink was found to have a blood alcohol content of .19 percent, police said.
