Jean M. Emanuel, 82, Formerly of Whitehall [Obituary]

Jean M. Emanuel, 82, of Round Rock, Texas, formerly of Whitehall, died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Seton Medical Center-Williamson, Texas. She was the wife of the late John R. Emanuel, who passed away on May 29, 2010. She was born in White Haven on Dec. 7, 1930 to the late E. Henry and Fietta (Guenther) Meier. Jean retired after 37 years as an elementary school teacher and Title I teacher for the Allentown School District. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall, where she sang on its choir and was a member of various other committees. She was a former member of the Whitehall Woman's Club and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed bowling and was an antique collector, especially collecting press glass.

Loving daughter: Jeanette Emanuel-Klingsmith and her husband Tracy L. of Round Rock, Texas; brother: Joseph H. Meier of Hellertown; granddaughter: Melissa; several nieces and nephews. 

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2013 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown, and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 835 Third St., Whitehall. The calling hour Saturday will be followed by the service at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Martha S. Sipe officiating. The interment will conclude services at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
