Learn About Canning at Farmers' Market
A canning discussion will be held at the Saucon Valley Farmers' Market on Sunday, June 24.

The in Hellertown will host a Canning Discussion led by Leigh K. Cole, the owner of Leigh's Jams from 10 to 11am on Sunday, June 24.
Topics to be covered are: equipment needed to properly and safely can; sterilization of jars, lids and bands; the three vital elements to safe canning; pH levels in fruit and how they impact a recipe; selecting ingredients and prepping fruit; and the process for making strawberry jam.
An informal question and answer session will also be held.

Leigh's Jams is a regular vendor at the Saucon Valley Farmers' Market, which is held from 9am to 1pm, Sundays, in .
"Leigh began supplying jams and jellies for her brother and sister-in-laws' produce stand in New Jersey, and the feedback was so positive that she began increasing inventory and selling at craft shows and farmers' markets," according to a biography. "What began as a fun and crafty project for gift-giving eight years ago has since turned into a successful, award winning small business."
