'Lefties' Taking Aim at Second Amendment [Letter]
Hellertown resident and 'activist' Lee Weidner says he has joined the NRA and bought a gun since 'Democratic political lefties have taken aim at the Second Amendment.'

To the editor:
Recently, Chicago playwright David Mamet stated that "the so-called assault weapons ban is a hoax. It is a political appeal to the ignorant... The ban addresses only the appearance of weapons, not their operation."
I could not agree more. Since the Democratic political lefties have taken aim at the Second Amendment, I never leave home without carrying a defensive tool, have joined the NRA, have purchased my first gun ever and intend on joining the Hellertown Sportsmen for weaponry training. I will complete the Sportsmen's requirements, including safety training.

Home defense has become a priority, since over the last eight years I have been deemed an activist. Therefore, I have stepped on several Big Toes. Certain Demos in Hellertown have attempted to limit my First Amendment rights and I have been physically threatened by others.
I have had to add a warning to the trunk of my small car ever since a massive pickup truck tried to force me off Route 145 in Treichlers. The warning is for self-defense, for I have a very bad habit of abiding by the posted speed limit and therefore avoid driving on Routes 78 and 22. I cannot afford to purchase a used U.S. Army tank.

However, I still must contend with Route 412. Fortunately, Hellertown Police have stepped up speed enforcement, especially on Easton Road. I say, "More power to them! They should be able to use radar! Are you listening, Pennsylvania legislators, both Democrats and Republicans?"
A few years ago I fought like heck to have the speed limit on Main Street lowered, and Hellertown's engineer in a report announced that he's in favor of lowering it to 25mph. Oh, horrors, I can hear motorists moaning now. "You must be nuts, Weidner. I have to get to work on time." My response is, "Get out of the sack an hour earlier and quit complaining." Texting while speeding and talking on those damn cell phones when behind the wheel kill more than illegal firearms in a year. Taking guns from the hands of the law-abiding will kill more.
Wake up people. The U.S. Constitution counts.
