Louis Messics, 89, of Hellertown, passed away Nov. 13, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Theresa (Bartakovits) Messics.

Louis Messics, 89, of Hellertown, passed away Nov. 13, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Theresa (Bartakovits) Messics. The couple were married for 57 years in October. Born in Lower Saucon Township, he was a son of the late Frank and Theresa (Makos) Messics. Louis was a meat cutter for various local grocery stores. He was a member of several bowling and golf leagues. He also enjoyed gardening. Louis and his wife maintained a large truck farm at their home. He was a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Hellertown.

Surviving with his wife are children: Louis "Butch" Messics of Riegelsville; Theresa, wife of David Koller, of Hellertown; Diane, wife of Joseph DiRado, of Bethlehem; and Alan Messics, and his wife, Karen, of Norristown; and four grandchildren: Nicole and Christopher DiRado; and Madison and Cole Messics. He was predeceased by siblings: Joseph, Stephen and John Messics; Mary Jacoby and Betty Kester.

Services: A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1418 Main St., Hellertown. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
