Lower Saucon Woman Will Turn 106 on Friday

Minnie Poulton of Lower Saucon Township will turn 106 on Sept. 27.

A Lower Saucon Township woman is expected to reach a very special milestone Friday.

Minnie Poulton, who lives at the Weston Rehabilitation & Nursing Center (formerly Mary Ellen Convalescent Home), was born on Sept. 27, 1907.

A resolution in Poulton's honor was passed unanimously at a recent township council meeting.

The resolution included a biography of sorts, which explained that Poulton worked for much of her adult life in the silk and dress mills that were once common throughout the Lehigh Valley.

She was married for nearly 60 years to her late husband, Harold, with whom she had two children.

In addition to her children, Poulton will be celebrating her special day with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
