Man, 79, Stole Bottle Jack, Police Say
Stephen Ressler of Lower Saucon Township has been charged with theft, according to Hellertown Police.
Hellertown Police say a Lower Saucon Township man was charged with theft after he allegedly stole a bottle jack from a property in the 700 block of Front Street.
In a news release, police said Stephen Ressler, 79, went onto the property and took the jack at about 9:35 a.m. Aug. 9.
Police said Ressler fled when confronted by the property owner, who reported a theft in progress, to which officers responded.
A bottle jack is a type of hydraulic jack that is so-called because its shape resembles that of a bottle, according to a Wikipedia.org entry.
