Man Found With Pot in Water Street Park, Police Say

Hellertown Police say Mark L. Favereaux, 26, of First Avenue, Hellertown, has been charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hellertown Police say a borough man was recently found in possession of a small amount of marijuana while he was parked in the lot at Water Street Park.

In a news release, police said Mark L. Favereaux, 26, of the 1200 block of First Avenue, jumped out of his red Chevrolet and "acted suspiciously" when police approached him shortly before 8 p.m. Aug. 1.

Police said marijuana and drug paraphernalia were subsequently found in Favereaux's vehicle, and that he was arrested on charges of possession.

Officers were initially called to the park to investigate a report of suspicious individuals, police said.
