Man Had Loaded Gun in Car Without Permit, Police Say
Hellertown Police say Matthew R. Murray, 38, of Quarry Road, Springfield Township, was in possession of a loaded handgun inside his vehicle without a valid permit to carry a concealed weapon.
Hellertown Police say a Springfield Township man has been charged with a firearms violation.
In a news release, police said Matthew R. Murray, 38, of the 1500 block of Quarry Road, had a loaded handgun inside his vehicle but did not have a concealed weapons permit.
Police said the gun was discovered in Murray's possession following a Main Street traffic stop at 2:29 a.m. Aug. 10, a Saturday.
Police issued their news release about the alleged incident on Wednesday.
Murray has been charged with carrying a firearm without a license and a summary traffic violation, police said.
