Son Blamed Accident on His Mom, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police also say a man was found to possess a small amount of marijuana after nearly crashing his car on Bingen Road.

Man Implicated Mother in Traffic Accident, Police Say

Police say they were investigating an accident at the Saucon Square shopping center on Route 378 at 8:47 p.m. on Feb. 8 when Anthony Divergigelis, 24, of the 500 block of Juniper Street, Quakertown, told them he was not driving a vehicle involved in the crash and implicated his mother. Police said in a press release that further investigation revealed that Divergigelis "lied to police and...actually was the driver." Divergigelis was charged with false reports to law enforcement, driving under suspension and "driving at safe speed," police said.

Benjamin D. Johnson, of the 800 block of South Hoffert Street, Fountain Hill, was stopped at Bingen Road and Mountain View Drive at 12:39 p.m. on Feb. 8 after "nearly causing a crash at Bingen Road and Spring Valley Road," police said in a press release. An officer detected "a strong odor of marijuana" while speaking to Johnson, according to information in the release. Johnson was subsequently found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to authorities. In addition to summary traffic violations, he faces charges of possession.

Man Trespassed in Order to Retrieve His Dogs, Police Say

Ronald A. Flowers, 55, of the 4300 block of Appleblossom Road, Center Valley, trespassed on a property in the 4200 block of Lewis Avenue at 3:04 p.m. on Feb. 8 "to obtain his two dogs," police said. In a press release, police said Flowers "did not have permission to come on to the property" and that he was cited for defiant trespass.

Man Cited Following Hickory Hill Road Accident, Police Say

Duane Fudge, 51, of the 1800 block of Viola Lane, Lower Saucon Township, was driving on Hickory Hill Road at 9:01 p.m. on Feb. 8 when he lost control of his vehicle, "veered into the opposite lane of travel" and struck a tree, police said. In a press release, police said there were "slippery roadway conditions" at the time of the accident. Since Fudge failed to keep his vehicle under control, police said he will be cited for Driving Vehicle on Right Side of Roadway.

Woman Charged With DUI Following Riverside Drive Traffic Stop, police say

Police say they stopped Megan Powell at 1:42 a.m. on Jan. 20 on Riverside Drive near Fritz Drive after she was timed traveling at 46 mph in a 25 mph speed zone. In a press release, police said Powell, of the first block of Flafair Drive, Williams Township, was subsequently found to be under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .14 percent. She has been charged with DUI, police said.
