Man on Probation Stole Metal, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township police say Abe Rodriguez, 52, stole metal from the side of a Leithsville Road garage in February, and then sold it at H. Blinderman & Son in Hellertown for $30.

A man who was already on probation in Lancaster County for possession with intent to deliver a narcotic has been charged with theft in a township case, Lower Saucon Township police announced Monday.

In a press release, police said Abe Rodriguez, 52, of the 1900 block of Mountain Hill Lane, Lower Saucon, stole aluminum angle iron and aluminum channel valued at $300 .

Police said an investigation revelaed that Rodriguez "had turned the aluminum in for $30" at , a metal recycling business in Hellertown.

Rodriguez was committed to Northampton County Prison for a probation violation on March 16, police said.
