Man Who Tied Dog to Vet's Door Fined $750

A Bethlehem man who tied a dog that later died to the door at North Saucon Animal Hospital in Lower Saucon Township has admitted to the offense in district court, according to online records.

Orlando Morales-Concepcion, 37, of the 1100 block of Fritz Drive, tied a Shih Tzu named Dolly to the vet's door early on the morning of Sept. 27, Lower Saucon Township police said last month.

After Morales-Concepcion left the area, the dog broke loose, ran into traffic on Route 378, and was killed when she was struck by a car, police said.

According to the court records, Morales-Concepcion pleaded guilty Tuesday in a non-traffic case to a summary charge of cruelty to animals.

District Judge David Tidd fined him $750 plus court costs, the records indicated.

The animal hospital is located in the Black River Plaza shopping center, at Route 378 and Black River Road.
