Middle School Fundraiser Praised by Cancer Charity
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society says Saucon Valley Middle School students deserve recognition for raising more than $6,500 this year for the "Pasta for Pennies" program presented by Olive Garden.

Students from participated again this year in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) "Pasta for Pennies" program presented by Olive Garden. Over three weeks, .
"Pasta for Pennies" is an annual, national fundraising initiative involving students in the first through 12th grades.
During a three-week period, students donate spare change, which is collected in special jars in their classrooms. The funds support cancer research and patient services programs, and the top fundraising class at each participating school receives a pasta party from their local Olive Garden restaurant.

Saucon Valley Middle School has participated in "Pasta for Pennies" since 2006, the LLS said. The first year the school raised $2,542.13 and .
“I’m so proud of this school,” said Caroline Page, Director of School & Youth at the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the LLS. “It is not easy to raise that kind of money, but the children at Saucon Valley Middle School worked hard knowing how important this cause is.”
