Movie in Park, Ice Cream Festival: This Weekend in Saucon Valley

Friday, Aug. 2

10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Hellertown Area Library 3rd Annual Used Book Sale, Saucon Valley High School cafeteria, 2097 Polk Valley Road, Hellertown. Browse more than 4,000 used books, movies and recordings. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Hellertown Area Library.

Shortly after dusk, Movie in the Park, Dimmick Park, Constitution Avenue and Durham Street, Hellertown. Friday's feature film is "Escape from Planet Earth." Bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating. Refreshments available. Free. 

Saturday, Aug. 3

1 to 4 p.m., John Griswold Art Exhibit, Heller Homestead Art Gallery, 1890-92 Friedensville Road, Lower Saucon Township.

4 to 9 p.m., Ice Cream Festival, St. Luke's Old Williams Church, Church and Easton roads, Hellertown (Williams Township). Highlights of the event will include live music, games for kids, a cake walk, a meat wheel, bingo, food and ice cream.

Sunday, Aug. 4

9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saucon Valley Farmers' Market and Relay for Life of Saucon Valley's 3rd Annual Duck Derby in the Saucon Creek, Water Street Park, Hellertown. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Buy ducks to place in the race for $5 each (or $25 for a "six-quack"). Prizes will be awarded to the winners.

12 p.m. to 3 p.m., John Griswold Art Exhibit, Heller Homestead Art Gallery, 1890-92 Friedensville Road, Lower Saucon Township.
