Obituary: Paul R. Hersh, 60, of Bethlehem

Paul R. Hersh, 60, of Bethlehem, passed away June 27, 2012 at his residence.

Paul R. Hersh, 60, of Bethlehem, passed away June 27, 2012, at his residence, surrounded by his loved ones. He was the husband of Debra S. (Adams) Hersh. Together they celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary last Sept. 25. He was born in Allentown on Aug. 27, 1951 to the late Raymond "Whitey" and Elsie (Jacoby) Hersh. Paul served our country faithfully in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. Paul worked as a chef at many area restaurants, last working at the Mercantile Club in Emmaus until his illness. He enjoyed fishing, sci fi Movies, wrestling and handyman carpentry around his home. His family would like to thank Lehigh Valley Home Care, Hospice and OACIS for their compassion. They would also like to thank Pastor Marc Dekle and his wife Deanna for their guidance, support and friendship, and give a big thank you to Paul's aide Dana for making his days happy.

Survivors:

In addition to his wife; children: Alicia Hersh and her husband Franklin Beers of Northampton, Jeffrey Hersh of Northampton; stepdaughter: Tina M. Michael of Allentown, stepson: Carl E. Klinger Sr. and his wife Michelle of Gilbert; sister: Shirley Hunley and her husband Russell of Ohio; sisters-in-law: Rhonda "Rita" K. O'Melko of Rock, Kan., Bonnie L. Miller of Prescott, Ariz.; numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved canine friend, Bandit. He was predeceased by a stepson: William Michael Jr.; and a brother: Dale Jacoby.
