The fountain at Detwiller Plaza in Hellertown is capable of producing some remarkable ice sculptures in winter.
Hellertown's Detwiller Plaza fountain becomes an ever-changing ice sculpture each winter, when its bubbling jet begins to freeze over.
Thawing and re-freezing of the fountain ice can produce some remarkable natural formations, such as this one resembling a carved gargoyle, captured last Friday.
