Police: Disturbance at Cherry and Main Results in Arrests

Hellertown Police say a loud disturbance at Cherry Lane and Main Street early Aug. 11 resulted in one arrest and five citations.

On Aug. 11 at 3:41am police say officers responded to a report of a fight at Cherry Lane and Main Street.

Police said in a press release that when officers arrived, they observed a group of people standing around a maroon Hyundai SUV, arguing loudly with its male operator and a passenger. As an officer exited his vehicle, the individuals who were outside the Hyundai attempted to flee the scene, but were ordered to stop and return, police said.

Ultimately, the driver of the SUV--who police identified as Quran Hughes, of the 300 block of West Wilkes Barre Street, Easton--was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol while being under 21 years of age, police said.
