Robert S. Moriarty, 90, Was Metallurgical Engineer [Obituary]

Robert S. Moriarty, 90, of Lower Saucon Township died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at home.

Robert S. Moriarty, 90, of Lower Saucon Township died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at home. He was the husband of the late Marilyn M. (Miller) Moriarty, who died April 28, 2011. He was born in Titusville on Feb. 14, 1923 to the late James J. Moriarty and Wilda Z. (Buffenberger) Moffatt. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was honorably discharged as a Corporal during WWII. He was a 1950 graduate of Grove City College in engineering. Robert was a metallurgical engineer for 32 years at the former Bethlehem Steel until retiring. He was a member of the Elks Post 191, Bethlehem for 64 years; a charter member of the Saucon Valley Veterans Memorial Association; and a life member of the Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397, Hellertown, in which he held various state positions. 

SURVIVORS

Loving daughters: Gail A. Priestas, with whom he resided, Karen L. wife of Peter D. Stebelski of Bethlehem Township; grandchildren: Todd S. Lutseo and his wife Melissa and Tara L. Stebelski. He was predeceased by a son-in-law: John E. Priestas, in 2003.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday. The service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The interment will conclude services at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem, with military honors.
