Steel Hawks Coach to Headline Relay for Life Kick-Off
The annual kick-off event for Relay for Life of Saucon Valley, which benefits the American Cancer Society, will be held at the Meadows in Lower Saucon Township on April 10.

The American Cancer Society and Relay for Life of Saucon Valley have announced that Lehigh Valley Steel Hawks coach Ken Miller will be the guest speaker at the 2013 Saucon Valley Kick-Off event—aka the Power of Purple Pasta Party—on April 10.
The kick-off will be held at the Meadows, 1770 Meadows Road, Hellertown, from 6 to 8pm (doors will open at 5:30pm).
Tickets will be available for a $10 donation, with guests under age 5 free. The donation includes a spaghetti dinner, door prizes and a basket raffle. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society Lehigh Valley Unit.

According to a press release from Relay for Life, Miller is a cancer survivor and a longtime supporter of the American Cancer Society, as well as a recent recipient of Channel 69's “Unsung Hero Award” for his volunteer work with recovering cancer patients.
The release said Miller will talk about how smokeless tobacco affected his life.

The kick-off event is open to the public, and anyone who has been touched by cancer, or wishes to support the cause, is invited to attend. For tickets or more information, contact Carol at 610-838-1354.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life brings together teams from local businesses, schools, churches and families for food, fun, music, entertainment and a night under the stars—while team members take turns walking or running on a track.
All monies raised from the Relay For Life of Saucon Valley event, to be held in Dimmick Park, May 18-19, 2013 from 9am to 9am (24 hours), will go to cancer research, education, advocacy and service.
