Walter G. Youse, 96, Received Purple Heart After Iwo Jima [Obituary]
Walter G. Youse, formerly of Allentown, died at Saucon Valley Manor on March 21, 2013.

Walter G. Youse, 96, formerly of Allentown, died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown. He was the husband of the late Catherine M. (Kokolus) Youse. He was born in Allentown on Oct. 30, 1916 to the late Charles B. and Sadie T. (Louch) Youse. Walter worked as a machine operator for the former Freeman Dairy, Allentown for 11 years; Coloric, Topton for 11 years; and for the former E.F. Grammis, Allentown for 25 years. He served the country honorably during World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a recipient of the Purple Heart on Iwo Jima.Â
SURVIVORS
His companion, Margaret Ohl, of Hellertown; son: Dennis P. Youse (Mona) of Macungie; two grandchildren; two great-grandsons; sister: Marcella of Fullerton. He was predeceased by a son, Robert.Â

SERVICE
The service will be private at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Allentown. Expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
