Woman's Purse Stolen at Giant, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say a borough woman's purse was taken after she forgot it in a shopping cart at the Leithsville Road supermarket.

Lower Saucon Township Police are hoping to identify a man they say stole a Hellertown woman's purse after she forgot it in a shopping cart at the Giant Food Store, 1880 Leithsville Road.

In a news release police said the woman forgot her purse when she returned her buggy after shopping.

Police said the purse was then stolen by "an unknown man" who fled the shopping center in a dark sedan after removing cash from the purse and dumping it near Dollar Tree.

"The (man) in the dark sedan was observed on video sitting in the parking lot for over an hour," police said in the news release.

Anyone with information about the man's identity is asked to call the Lower Saucon Township Police Department at 610-317-6110.
