PA Lawyer Who Forged Federal Judge's Signature Twice To Trick Client Gets Prison Time (dailyvoice.com) — A Hollidaysburg resident and former attorney has been sentenced to one to three years in state prison for forging a custody order that misled his client, with additional state and federal sentences running at the same time. Authorities say his actions included falsifying judges’ signatures and mishandling client funds, and he has already been disbarred in Pennsylvania.

Troy Ruggery, Bishop Guilfoyle pull away from Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers (altoonamirror.com) — Hollidaysburg basketball fans saw a fast-paced showdown Monday as Bishop Guilfoyle topped the Golden Tigers, 71-63, at Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School. Junior guard Troy Ruggery poured in 22 second-half points, while Hollidaysburg’s missed free throws and layups proved costly despite strong efforts from Kasen Metzger and J.J. Stultz.
   

3. AMED prices to rise by 3.8% (altoonamirror.com) — Ambulance users in the Hollidaysburg area will see a 3.8% increase in AMED transport rates next year as the agency covers rising insurance and operating costs. AMED will also take over ambulance service for Huston Township, Martinsburg, and North Woodbury Township, areas now served by Hollidaysburg American Legion Ambulance, while investing in new vehicles and response units.

Altoona man heading for jury trial in four joined cases (altoonamirror.com) — In a Hollidaysburg courtroom, an Altoona man convicted of serious sex- and drug-trafficking charges has postponed sentencing while he awaits a state evaluation and now faces another jury trial in four joined drug cases. Blair County prosecutors say he rejected a plea offer, and jury selection will be scheduled as co-defendants in the trafficking ring have already been sentenced.
