Walk-in crisis center opens in Honesdale (riverreporter.com) — A new walk-in Northeast Regional Crisis Stabilization Center has opened at 100 Park Street in Honesdale, offering immediate help for people in crisis. The facility includes an intake area for up to 24-hour stays, eight short-term residential beds, and a 24/7 crisis call center that will relocate from Main Street, expanding local access to mental health support.
   

2. Restaurant inspections from Wayne County, Dec. 1-7 (tricountyindependent.com) — Several Honesdale food establishments, including Scarfalloto's Towne House and Wayne Memorial Hospital, recently underwent state inspections, with only minor issues noted and some sites earning zero violations. These reports give Honesdale residents a current snapshot of how local restaurants and food services are performing on cleanliness and food safety.

Placemaking project to involve residents in future of Honesdale's playground (riverreporter.com) — Honesdale Borough’s Central Park playground is being reimagined through the grassroots People’s Playground Project, which aims to deeply involve local residents in the design. Wayne County Sheriff's Office searching for wanted Scranton man, failed to appear in court (fox56.com) — Wayne County authorities in Honesdale are asking for your help finding Scranton resident Nelson Vazquez-Cardona, who failed to appear for a court hearing on multiple driving-related charges. The sheriff’s office says tips about his whereabouts can be given confidentially by contacting the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.

Local hunters close out rifle deer season with a flourish (tricountyindependent.com) — Honesdale-area hunters are wrapping up one of their most successful rifle deer seasons in years, with big-buck stories coming in from across Wayne and Pike counties. A former Honesdale High School wrestling standout is among those celebrating, after harvesting an 8-pointer in northern Wayne County as the 2025 season closed.
