Baseball: Hatboro-Horsham Handles Quakertown
The Hatters' baseball team defeated the Panthers Wednesday.

Hatboro-Horsham senior catcher Chris Naiberk led the offense in a 5-1 victory over the visiting Quakertown Panthers on Wednesday. Naiberk was 3-3 with a run, RBI, and a double. Sophomore left-fielder Eric Lane was 2-3 with 2 RBI and a triple. Grant Opalisky and Kevin Barron each had a double, run scored, and an RBI.
Senior John Hlywiak earned the win on the mound for the Hatters (4-5 overall, 3-3 SOL Continental). He pitched four innings allowing just one hit while striking out nine and walking four. Dave Brown pitched two innings striking out two and allowing one run on one hit. Tyler Markovic struck out two while not allowing a base runner in his one inning of work.
Quakertown starter Sage Fuhrmeister struck out eight in five innings while allowing five runs, three earned, on eight hits.
