The Hatters (3-5 Overall, 2-3 SOL Continental) lost a pitcher's duel to the North Penn Knights (3-2 SOL Continental) by a 2-1 score on Monday. In a game dominated by starters Ryan Kelly (Hatboro-Horsham) and Bryce Mengel (North Penn), the Knights' Eddie Posavec scored the winning run on an RBI single by Brady West in the sixth inning.
The Knights got on the board in the first inning when Chris Kersey scored on a Posavec RBI single. Kelly was dominant over the next four innings allowing three hits and one walk in five innings while striking out five.
Hatter Eric Thomas knocked in Eric Lane with an RBI single to tie the game at 1-1 in the second inning. Bryce Mengel earned the win with a complete game five-hitter while walking one and striking out three. Zach Prendergast took the loss in relief for the Hatters.
